Prof Rashad Abdul-Ghani
Biography
Rashad Abdul-Ghani received a Bachelor's degree (First Class Honors) in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sana’a University in 1998. He pursued his postgraduate studies at Alexandria University, where he received his Master of Public Health Sciences in 2010 and PhD in Applied and Molecular Parasitology in 2014. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Medical Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sana'a University and the scientific coordinator of the Tropical Disease Research Center, University of Science and Technology - Yemen. His research interest focuses on tropical parasitic and vector-borne diseases.
He participated in several training workshops, conferences and committees. He also supervised undergraduate projects as well as master and doctorate theses and served as a Principal Investigator/co-investigator for a number of research projects on tropical diseases.
He published several original articles, reviews, perspectives and editorials in international, ISI-indexed journals. He received the "Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing" for the year 2013 from Elsevier in conjunction with Acta Tropica, the "Certificate of Outstanding Reviewer” for the year 2014 from Acta Tropica and the "Certificate of Outstanding Contribution to Reviewing" from Acta Tropica in December 2016.
He is a member of the Council of the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) and of the Scientific Council of the Annals of Parasitology."
