European operation seat-belt

Date: 5–11 April 2004
Location: Europe-wide

A co-ordinated pan-European roadside enforcement operation by traffic police services of the 19 European member countries of the European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL) against vehicle drivers and passengers who do not wear their seat-belts in accordance with road traffic law. Advance publicity of the operation and simultaneous promotion will offer information that wearing seat-belts saves lives and reduces road casualties.
