First meeting of the Forum Working Group, takes place in Geneva
The first meeting of the Forum Working Group (FWG), took place on 5 and 6 November in Geneva, Switzerland. Chaired by the Government of Brazil, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Global Health Workforce Alliance (the Alliance), the FWG meeting was the first opportunity to brainstorm on thematic issues and operational aspects of the Third Global Forum on Human Resources for Health.
Participants also learnt of the Alliance plans for advocacy and communications initiatives alongside other technical products being developed to build momentum towards the Forum. The deliberations of the FWG meeting will feed into the discussions of the strategic meeting of the Forum Organizing Committee (FOC), which takes place on 29 and 30 November.
Over the following weeks and months, the Alliance Secretariat, in collaboration with the Government of Brazil, patrons, co-hosts and Alliance members and partners, will facilitate a participatory process to develop the event programme and related activities. Relevant information will be regularly disseminated through the Alliance website, newsletter and other relevant mechanisms. The Forum Working Group is comprised of HRH experts from our members and partners, including Save the Children UK, Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), GIZ, NCD Alliance, and International Labour Organization (ILO).
