Task Forces and Working Groups
As one of its strategic key priorities, the Alliance has embarked on addressing specific workforce challenges by establishing mission-oriented, time bound Task Forces and Working Groups to address specific areas that impact on human resources for health. The Alliance has so far commissioned six task forces, on the following themes: Financing, Migration, Private Sector, Scaling up Education and Training, Tools & guidelines and Universal Access to HIV treatment.
Alliance Task Forces and Working Groups:
The work of the Task Forces and Working Groups are guided by terms of reference and budgeted work plans, approved by the Alliance Board. The purpose of the work of the Task Forces and Working Groups is to produce evidence that will impact on and accelerate action on improving the workforce. Their outputs are expected to support the development of a strategy for national HRH action (Ref. National HRH action framework) and for global action.
The Alliance also supports and works in partnership with civil society groups on specific initiatives. It is a central supporter of the Health Workforce Advocacy Initiative, and is providing support to a 5-year campaign on positive practice environments jointly designed by six health professional associations.
