Since its inception in 2006, the Alliance has undertaken several review processes in order to refine its focus of work and improve its efficiency. Two of these analyses were conducted in 2010 and 2011 by interviewing member and partner organizations with a view of better understanding the needs and expectations within the broad Alliance membership. These self-evaluations helped define the scope of work for the Alliance in 2011.
Furthermore, in 2012 the Alliance Board commissioned an external evaluation of its work to date, with a view to take stock of our experience so far, and help define a strategic framework for the following years. The external evaluation recognized several important areas of contribution and value added of the Alliance, together with some areas that require improvements. It informed the development of the Alliance Strategy 2013-2016.
