iERG welcomes new members
26 OCTOBER 2012 | GENEVA - In October 2012, one of the seven iERG members - Prof Marleen Temmerman – had to leave the group due to her new appointment as Director of Reproductive and Research Department at WHO.
In response, WHO initiated a Call for submission of nomination to all stakeholders of the Global Strategy (7 July - 7 September 2012). It was suggested to select an 8th member given the load of the iERG work. The same process as last year was applied to select the new members. On 4 October 2012, the members of the Selection Committee met by telephone conference to assess the nominees and to make their recommendation, which was endorsed by the WHO Director-General.
We are now delighted to announce that Dr Tarek Meguid and Mrs Kathleen G. Ferrier have joined the iERG.
