Safe plumbing practices

Rolling revision of the WHO Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality

Safe plumbing practices are included in the plan of work of the rolling revision of the WHO Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality.

Background

Improper design and installation of plumbing fixtures in household plumbing systems are a public health concern, especially when they allow drinking-water to become contaminated with sewage. Several WHO Regions (e.g., WPRO) have expressed an interest in this area, particularly with regard to dual systems.
