- In January 2003, there was a national round-table seminar on violence and health to discuss implementation of the recommendations of the World report on violence and health in Thailand. Participants included representatives from various government ministries, NGOs, the police and the head of the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand. Discussions focused on data collection, policy support, cooperation between governmental organizations and NGOs, and community participation in violence prevention.
- In 2004-2005 Thailand will be developing a national report on violence and health as a basis for a national plan of action for violence prevention.
- In December 2007, the National report on violence and health in Thailand was published. Developed with support from the WHO Centre for Health Development in Kobe Japan, the report has a foreword by the Honourable Thawat Santrajarn, Director General of Diseases Control, Ministry of Public Health Thailand. The report reviews the latest available information about the magnitude and consequences of violence in Thailand, its causes, correlates and risk factors, and what's being done by way of violence prevention and victim services, and provides a set of recommendations for strengthening violence prevention programming and polices at national and local levels.
