World report on child injury prevention: child-friendly version (2008)

Aimed to inform children, aged 7 - 11 years, about various types of injuries and how these may be prevented, this companion to the "World Report on Child Injury Prevention" uses a mixture of facts, puzzles, games and other visual material.

Child and adolescent injury prevention: a WHO plan of action (2006)

The Plan of Action sets out WHO's focus for the next ten years with action outlined in the areas of data, research, prevention, services for those affected by injury, building capacity in countries, and advocacy. The plan forms part of a stream of work, conducted with WHO partners, that began in 2005 and which will include a World report on child and adolescent injury prevention, due to be jointly published with UNICEF in 2008.

Planète Enfants: Dans la rue soyons tous prudents ! (2006)

Planète enfants is a not-for-profit magazine targeted at school children between the ages of 8 - 12 years. This booklet, prepared with the technical support of WHO, was issued as part of the magazine to coincide with the beginning of the school year in Africa. Using the comic's regular characters, Max and Dina, the booklet addresses through comic sketches, games and quizzes issues such as the meaning of road signs, road safety around schools, and the importance of using seat-belts and helmets.

Child and adolescent injury prevention: A global call to action (2005)

To call attention to the growing, yet preventable problem of child and adolescent injuries, WHO, UNICEF and a number of experts from around the world have developed a brief document entitled “Child and adolescent injury prevention: A global call to action”. The document draws attention to the magnitude of the problem and how child and adolescent injuries may be prevented. The document is the first in a series of documents which will culminate in the publication of a World report on child and adolescent injury and violence prevention in 2008.
