WHO launches "Child and adolescent injury prevention: A global call to action"

WHO is scaling up its work in the area of child and adolescent injury and violence prevention. To call attention to this growing, yet preventable problem, WHO, UNICEF and a number of experts from around the world have developed a brief document entitled “Child and adolescent injury prevention: A global call to action” which draws attention to the magnitude of the problem and how child and adolescent injuries may be prevented.

The document is written primarily for policy-makers and donors and is the first in a series of documents which subsequently led to the publication of the World report on child injury prevention in 2008.
