WHO hosts international expert meeting on the development of guidelines for youth violence prevention
WHO is developing new guidelines on youth violence prevention, an emerging priority area in global public health. The guidelines focus primarily on youth violence and its prevention in low- and middle-income countries.
This international meeting, held from 11-12 December at WHO headquarters, convened some 25 international youth violence prevention experts. Its aim was to discuss the available evidence (compiled in a series of systematic reviews), assess the feasibility of implementing interventions in different settings, and formulate recommendations.
The launch of the guideline is planned for mid-2014.
