The Directorate-General for Development Cooperation – DGDC
The Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGDC) of Belgium deals with the various aspects of Belgian development cooperation. The DGDC resorts directly under the Federal Minister of Development Cooperation. The Belgian action is addressed to the poverty reduction, support to human development and partnership. In the sector of health it has been concentrated to improve primary health care, providing assistance in medical research and combating major pandemics in Belgian partner countries. Concerning HAT a large support to combat African trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness) is provided to DRC.
