Below is a list of health professional organizations that have formally adopted the code of practice on tobacco control. The European Forum Medical Associations (EFMA)
The European Forum of Medical Associations (EFMA) is an organization of medical associations from across the 51 member states of the WHO European Region. EFMA aims to establish a dialogue and cooperation between National Medical Associations and the World Health Organisation in the European region, to improve the quality of health and health care in Europe, promote the exchange of information and ideas between national medical associations and formulate consensus policy statements on health issues. -
International Council of Nurses (ICN)
The International Council of Nurses (ICN) is a federation of national nurses’ associations (NNAs), representing nurses in more than 120 countries. ICN works to ensure quality nursing care for all, sound health policies globally, the advancement of nursing knowledge, and the presence worldwide of a respected nursing profession and a competent and satisfied nursing workforce. -
International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP)
The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) is a world-wide federation of national pharmaceutical (professional and scientific) associations, with a mission to represent and serve pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences around the globe. FIP is dedicated to improving the access to and value of appropriate medicine use, and contributing to changes in science, practice and health policies worldwide. -
The International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF)
The International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) is a worldwide federation of pharmacy associations, which has a mission to represent and serve pharmacy and pharmacy students around the globe. Through its member associations, IPSF connects, represents and serves more than 350, 000 pharmacy students and pharmacists around the world. -
World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC)
The World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) represents national associations of chiropractors in 81 countries. Its goals include acting with national and international organizations to provide information and other assistance in the fields of chiropractic and world health, and promoting uniform high standards of chiropractic education, research and practice. -
World Dental Federation (FDI)
The World Dental Federation (FDI) is a federation of National Dental Associations. Its main roles are to bring together the world of dentistry, represent the dental profession of the world and stimulate and facilitate exchange of information across all borders with the aim of optimal oral health for all people. -
World Heart Federation (WHF)
The World Heart Federation (WHF) is a membership organization, comprising of 180 members societies of cardiology and heart foundations from 100 countries and continental members covering the regions of Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas and Africa. The World Heart Federation helps people achieve a longer and better life through prevention and control of heart disease and stroke, with a focus on low and middle income countries. -
Sindicato Médico del Uruguay (SMU)
The Uruguay Medical Association (Sindicato Médico del Uruguay) was created on 11 August 1920. It is a non-profit, non-governmental association. The association is located in Montevideo, the capital of the Republic of Uruguay. Medical doctors and students are affiliated on a voluntary basis. The objectives of the Uruguay Medical Association are, among other things, to: defend the interests of its members; provide evidence-based information to keep its members up-to-date on developments and strengthen their technical skills; collaborate with other institutions in medical research; and contribute to the planning and improvement of national health systems and also the improvement and enforcement of laws and dispositions aimed at enhancing public health.
