International consultation on youth and tobacco
28-30 September 1999 | Singapore - The Tobacco Free Initiative in close collaboration with the Singapore Cancer Society and the Singapore Ministry of Health hosted an international consultation meeting in Singapore, September 28-30, 1999. The objective of this meeting was to highlight the growing use of tobacco by children and youth, and identify effective interventions in this area.
Vast resources are spent to promote and market tobacco products to young people all over the world. It is important that public health and education leaders be able to advocate for the most effective use of their limited resources. An evidence-based framework will enable implementation of effective policies and programs to protect children and youth.
