Overview

This training package has been prepared by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (the Union). The goal of the training is to facilitate strategic planning and action among those responsible for promoting, developing and implementing and enforcing comprehensive legislation to protect the public and workers from exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke. In particular, the training based on these materials will assist Parties to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) to fulfill their obligations under Article 8 of the WHO FCTC - protection from exposure to tobacco smoke. It also aims at assisting WHO Member States that are not yet parties to the WHO FCTC to implement selected demand reduction measures.
