Terms of reference:

  • Support to building capacity for enforcement of comprehensive tobacco control policies and programs in Central and Eastern Europe region (scope of activities: lobbying for adapting national policies to WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) requirements and guidelines, engaging policy makers and media in tobacco control).
  • Support to surveillance and research on tobacco use and control in Central and Eastern Europe countries (scope of activities: providing WHO data on smoking behaviours, tobacco control policies and activities in Central and Eastern Europe countries, initiating research projects in the region, helping in data analysis and publication, disseminating study results throughout the region, co-organizing scientific conferences and workshops).
  • Support to protecting non-smokers by reducing their exposure to tobacco smoke pollution in public places and worksites in Central and Eastern Europe (scope of activities: lobbying for enforcement of effective smoke-free policies in Poland and other Central and Eastern Europe countries, advising Central and Eastern Europe experts on smoke-free policies and advocacy campaigns, co-organizing conferences and training workshops, preparing training materials).
  • Support to tobacco control leadership, partnership and network in Central and Eastern Europe region (scope of activities: engaging medical community and civil society movement in tobacco control, assisting WHO, other international organizations and networks in training of Central and Eastern Europe public health leaders).
