Terms of reference:
- In consultation with PAHO, WHO and WHO Member States the Collaborating Centre will provide technical support, as necessary and appropriate, in relation to: 1. Surveillance, evaluation and research, aimed at: * Supporting multi-country research studies; * Developing research and evaluation tools for assessing WHO FCTC progress; and, * Enhancing national surveillance systems.
- Capacity building, aimed at: * Enhancing leadership capacity to promote and advocate for tobacco control at all levels; * Strengthening national and local tobacco control technical capacities; and, * Promoting multi-sector, integrated approaches to tobacco control and national coordinating mechanisms.
- Communications, aimed at: * Facilitating the dissemination of best practices for tobacco control; * Establishing effective partnerships; and, * Promoting multi-sector, multi-disciplinary collaboration in establishing and implementing tobacco control policies consistent with the WHO FCTC.
