Launch of ENGAGE-TB Operational Guidance at the Union World Conference in Kuala Lumpur
16 November 2012 | Geneva | The ENGAGE-TB Approach operational guidance document was launched today by Dr Mario Raviglione, director of the WHO Stop TB Department at the Stop TB Symposium at the 43rd Union World Conference on Lung Health.The ENGAGE-TB Approach seeks to integrate TB prevention and care into the community based work of NGOs and other CSOs. These include organizations working in health care in areas such as MCH, HIV and NCD as well as in other development areas such as education, agriculture and income generation. The ENGAGE-TB approach will help to increase stagnant global TB case detection, reporting, and also improve treatment outcomes.
