Preparing TB proposals for round 6 of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM)
15-18 May 2006, Geneva, Switzerland
WHO's Stop TB Department held a TB proposal preparation workshop in Geneva on 15‑18 May 2006 for round 6 of the GFATM. Twenty five TB experts from all regions completed 4 days training of the round 6 proposal guidelines and forms. The presentations and discussions focused on GFATM procedures, the components of WHO's new Stop TB Strategy and how they translate into objectives and service delivery areas (SDAs) within the GFATM grant application. Ways to incorporate Health Systems Strengthening issues into TB proposals were also discussed.
These trained TB experts, among others, will assist countries to prepare proposals pending requests. The facilitation of support to countries will be undertaken through WHO regional offices and coordinated by the Stop TB Department in Geneva (please send information about assistance to countries to e-mail: tbproposalhelp@who.int in order to allow for better coordination and support to countries).
