Stop TB Workshop on Grant Negotiation and Implementation of Global Fund TB Grants

The Stop TB Department, World Health Organization (WHO), and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria (Global Fund) jointly organized a workshop on grant negotiation and implementation of Global Fund round 6 and 7 TB proposals. The objectives of this workshop were as follows:
- To understand Global Fund requirements for grant signature, ongoing disbursements, and phase 2 renewal.
- To facilitate the early development of links/relationships between the Sub Recipients (SRs), Principal Recipients (PRs), external technical assistance partner, Global Fund Portfolio Managers (FPMs) and Programme Officers.
30 participants from 9 countries were present, including those from National TB Programmes (NTPs), Local and international NGOs, Country Coordination Mechanisms (CCMs) and Principal Recipients (PRs) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Presentations and discussions were led by staff from the Global Fund Secretariat including the following areas: Fund Portfolio Managers/Programme Officers, Finance, Procurement & Supply Management (PSM), Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Local Fund Agent (LFA) management, CCM management, Operational Partnerships and Country Support. WHO Stop TB Department staff provided overall facilitation. (Countries included Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia.)
