TBTEAM

Fact sheet

TBTEAM, which is managed by the WHO Stop TB Department and whose secretariat is also hosted by the WHO Stop TB Department, was created by the Stop TB Partnership in 2007. With increased financial resources in countries and efforts to implement all components of the Stop TB Strategy, there is both an increased demand for technical assistance and an increase in the number of TB partners available to provide support.

TBTEAM engages the network of Stop TB partners, including National TB Programmes, local and international NGOs, financial partners, and WHO at country, regional and global levels to ensure a more coordinated and efficient approach to technical assistance. Specifically, TBTEAM

  • leverages available TB expertise
  • gathers and shares information on planned technical assistance to all partners
  • facilitates planning of technical assistance according to needs

The TBTEAM web site provides a means for tracking planned technical assistance missions and for countries to request support where needed. Information contained in the web site can be updated through the TBTEAM focal points based in countries (national level focal points), Stop TB partner organizations and WHO regional offices. For help in identifying the relevant TBTEAM focal point, you may visit the website or contact the TBTEAM secretariat at central level: tbteam@who.int.
