UN International Drug Control Conventions
The WHO only uses the terms abuse and misuse when discussing individual psychoactive drugs in the context of international control, for the sake of consistency with the three major United Nations international drug control conventions of 1961, 1971 and 1988.
- Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, 1961
- Convention on Psychotropic Substances, 1971
- Convention against the Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, 1988
