Training
The training programme covered these specific areas: psychoactive substances, psychoactive substance use among young people, ways of responding to psychoactive substance use, project development and management, baseline assessment, monitoring and evaluation including community mobilization. These topical areas have been determined by the envisaged activities and direction of the project.
A generic training programme adapted for use in the workshops is presented. The training methods adopted ensured maximum interaction with peers within the group and the operational environment in order to enhance the learning process and the relevance of the learning. Because learning is a continuous process that goes beyond the formal training context, support needs to be sustained. Evaluation of the learning process was very important in all the workshops.
Two documents containing the information used in the training workshops were developed - Documents. Training in this project built capacity at local levels and contributed to effectiveness of the planned interventions and sustainability of the initiatives through a multiplier effect.
