Hoda Rashad
CSDH Commissioner from Egypt
Dr Rashad is Director and Research Professor of the Social Research Center of the American University in Cairo. She is member of the Senate (El Shoura Council), one of the two parliamentary bodies in Egypt. She serves on the National Council for Women, which reports to the President of Egypt and is chaired by the First Lady.
Dr Rashad is a member of the Higher Council for Policies of the National Party. She is also Chair of the Committee on Women in the Policy Secretariat of the National Party. A resource person and consultant to a number of regional and international organizations, Dr Rashad is currently a Vice-Chairman of the Dutch Development Assistance Research Council (RAWOO).
In the past, Dr Rashad served on the governing body of the Global Development Network (GDN), and as a member of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Group of the UNDP/UNFPA/WHO/World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction.
