The meeting highlighted Decade progress at the two-year mark, with updates on key achievements including launch of the Global status report on road safety 2013, release of the 2010 Global Burden of Disease estimates, new laws and lead agencies, and other initiatives.
It also emphasized major global events in 2013 which will increase visibility and foster progress on the Decade such as the Second UN Global Road Safety Week on pedestrian safety, as well as the UN Secretary-General's report to the UN General Assembly due in August 2013.
Project groups held discussions and continue to progress on activities in workplans for each of the Decade's Global Plan pillars.
