Inter-agency working group (IAWG)

An inter-agency working group (IAWG) on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and HIV/AIDS linkages has been established and held its first meeting in 2008.

The meeting was co-convened by WHO's Department of Reproductive Health and Research, the Department of HIV/AIDS and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

The objectives of this umbrella group are to:

  • advance the global, regional and national SRH/HIV linkages agenda through advocacy
  • share, foster and promote research and disseminate related evidence
  • provide coherent messaging within policy and programmatic efforts
  • support resource mobilization efforts.

It is targeted towards policy makers, advocates and programme managers from national governments, international and national non-governmental organizations, United Nations agencies, and donors
