Verbal autopsies for maternal deaths

A workshop was convened to bring together investigators from around the world with experience in the use of verbal autopsies for maternal deaths. The aims of the workshop were to share experiences and to move towards a consensus on methods. The workshop was held at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, 10-13 January 1994, with support from the Safe Motherhood Programme of the World Health Organization.
