Structure of H4+ CIDA Initiative
The H4+ Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) initiative represents the first country level collaboration among the H4+ in support of the implementation of the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s health
A Steering Committee was formed to lead the Initiative, members including senior representatives of the H4+ agencies: WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, World Bank and UNAIDS; and a representative of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The Committee meets at least 2 times per year.
The H4+ created a Coordination Team/Secretariat including all 5 agencies to prepare the Steering Committee meeting agendas and ensure implementation of the recommendations of the Steering Committee. The H4+ Secretariat is rotating among the 5 agencies, currently WHO is responsible until June 2012 when UNICEF will take over.
