Catapult announces fully funded projects
1 FEBRUARY 2013 - January has been an exciting month for Catapult—the first-ever crowdfunding platform for projects advancing the lives of girls and women. Now that these projects are fully funded, Catapult’s partners can get to work! Here are three projects that were fully funded this month:
- Roots of Health—an NGO working in Palawan, the Philippines—will be able to train community health workers in basic reproductive and general health knowledge and recognizing the warning signs of abuse, depression, and serious illnesses.
- Nepal Teacher Training Innovations and the Global Fund for Women will support a teacher training program for 230 women in some of Nepal’s poorest villages where often there is not a single woman who can read or write.
- The United Nations Population Fund will help the Tamale Fistula Centre in Ghana purchase medical equipment to increase the number of surgeries to repair damage caused in childbirth.
Two of these projects are supported by the Johnson & Johnson matching campaign, which has been extended until February 28th! Don’t miss this great opportunity to make your giving go even further—check out other projects eligible for matching funds
