United Nations General Assemby September 2012: RMNCH In focus

Introduction

This special section of the PMNCH website highlights special events related to advocacy and reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) which take place during the lead-up and the week of the opening of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, 18 September 2012.

A few highlights of the week include:

  • a Breakfast hosted by PMNCH and the iERG to launch the 2012 PMNCH Report;
  • A high-level Brunch hosted by PMNCH, the Countdown to 2015, The Lancet and the independent Review Group (iERG) on 23 September which will launch the much-anticipated PMNCH 2012 Report, as well as highlight a new Lancet/Countdown series on maternal and child health, and the up-coming iERG Report;
  • A Gala dinner at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) will mark two years of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’ Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health and Every Child Every Child (EWEC) Initiative on 25 September; and
  • A special luncheon organized by EWEC's Innovation Working Group will focus on maximizing private sector involvement in women’s and children’s health.
