Launch of the report and recommendations of the Working Group for the Health and Human Rights of Women, Children and Adolescents

This event will feature members of the High Level Working Group on the Health and Human Rights of Women, Children and Adolescents and well as the launch of the report and recommendations.

EWEC Global Strategy Progress Report consultation and launch of the Global Financing Facility 2016-17 Annual report.

Today 60 countries have made commitments to the Global Strategy and sixteen countries are developing, with support from the GFF, Investment Cases for improved health outcomes. This meeting will hear from Ministers of Health on their progress and perspectives on the implementation of the Global Strategy. This event will also allow for consultation on the Global Strategy Progress Report set to launch at the High-Level Political Forum in July and will launch the 2016 Annual Report for the Global Financing Facility
Women and Non-communicable diseases: fostering an integrated health agenda

This event will examine how a gender based approach can strengthen the delivery of better health outcomes for women particularly when it comes to NCD prevention, screening and treatment.

3rd Annual Global Citizen's Dialogue: Citizen-led accountability in Agenda 2030 implementation

This event builds on the growing movement for citizen-led accountability and aims to feed into the Independent Accountability Panel (IAP) for Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) and the High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development to strengthen citizen accountability in Agenda 2030 implementation at all levels. Afghanistan, Canada, Haiti, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay, The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH), UNAIDS and the United Nations.
Fueling Action: Leveraging policy and advocacy to address the rising toll of diabetes in pregnancy

This Deliver for Good branded events highlights the importance of connecting the various advocacy agendas of nutrition, NCDs and maternal health around the idea of a lifecyle approach to reducing the burden of NCDs, improving maternal and newborn health challenges and improving nutrition.It will be broadcasted live on Facebook
Quality, Equity and Dignity: Improving quality of care in health services for maternal, newborn and child health

This event will provide a forum for dialogue on best practices and challenges associated with improving the quality of health for maternal, newborn and child health services. A facilitated panel of Minsters of Health, implementing and funding partners, representatives of civil society and professional associations will highlight how countries and partners are jointly moving forward to institutionalise quality of care in health systems governance and implementation.

The Global AA-HA framework side event

This side event aims to stimulate action on adolescent health within WHO Member States as an integral part of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and to accelerate commitments to adolescent health from Every Woman, Every Child (EWEC) partners to advance the adolescent health component of the Global Strategy. The event will launch the Global AA-HA! Implementation Guidance that summarises key actions in support of SURVIVE, THRIVE, TRANSFORM objectives of the Global Strategy, and the SDGs and particularly to achieve universal health coverage for adolescents, and to address the broader determinants of adolescent health.
