PMNCH KNOWLEDGE (SO1) ACTIVITES

Strategic Objective 1 will increase access to and use of knowledge and innovations to enhance policy, service delivery and financing mechanisms, so as to address key constraints to achieving universal access to comprehensive, high-quality care for reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH). This work will be done in the context of support to the UN Secretary-General`s Global Strategy for Women`s and Children`s Health and its Every Woman Every Child Initiative. PMNCH will also work to develop Partners` consensus on key RMNCH topics through lessons shared on success factors and constraints.

Knowledge, innovations and consensus building

Specific activities in this SO include: the development of country investment and implementation scenarios to take forward to Global Strategy for Women`s and Children`s Health; technical support to optimize private sector engagement with PMNCH and the Innovation Working Group (IWG) of the Strategy; further discussion with Partners to continue the analyses of the economic benefits and impact of investing in RMNCH; and promotion of RMNCH essential interventions. In order to facilitate Partners`consensus on key RMNCH topics, the Partnership will work to: promote countries` implementation of essential RMNCH interventions; develop consensus of Quality of Care (QoC) indicators, producing selected country profiles; and facilitate alignment of Partners` strategies and action through evidence syntheses/ knowledge summaries on key RMNCH-related topics.
