PMNCH Strategic Objective (SO) 2:
Advocate to mobilize and align resources

PMNCH ADVOCACY (SO 2) ACTIVITIES

The Partnership advocates for women's and children's health by advancing the investment case and a rights-based argument through the reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) Continuum of Care. In its advocacy, PMNCH will work in resource mobilization to increase and mobilize commitments through partners' engagement; maintain momentum for women’s and children’s health in international and national policy and development; and build consensus on evidence-based policies, strategic priorities and efficiencies and align resources to underpin coherent policy development and implementation.

Resource mobilization: The Partnership will contribute to joint work with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Global Strategy to advocate for new commitments to RMNCH and for delivery of existing commitments made to and working with existing (and new) Partners in identifying new financial, policy and service-delivery commitments from all constituencies, including the private sector.

Maintain momentum: PMNCH will advocate, through events, dialogue and facilitation, to include the issue of women’s and children’s health prominently in the landscape of international politics, economics and development.

Build consensus: The Partnership will convene global, regional, national and local stakeholders to develop a consensus on evidence-based strategic priorities, and advocate for coordinated approaches to resource mobilization in countries and effective use and alignment of resources, and for equitable allocation of resources to agreed strategic directions, country priorities and national plans.
