The PMNCH 2014 Accountability Report - Tracking Financial Commitments to the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health

The fourth annual PMNCH 2014 Accountability Report was launched today at a breakfast event in New York in the lead up to the UN General Assembly week. This year’s report focuses exclusively on the commitments made to the Global Strategy that were specifically expressed in financial terms. It shows some encouraging trends in the implementation of Global Strategy commitments and RMNCH financing, but also points to important areas requiring additional focus.

The PMNCH 2013 Report - Analysing Progress on Commitments to the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health

This is the third annual report produced by PMNCH analysing the commitments made by countries and development partners to the Global Strategy and Every Woman Every Child. The report contributes to the work of the independent Expert Review Group by surveying each of the nearly 300 commitment-makers about the progress they have made in keeping their Global Strategy promises and by mapping the content of those pledges against the goals of the Global Strategy. The main objective of the PMNCH 2013 Report is to assess the extent to which the 293 stakeholders who have made commitments to the Global Strategy since its launch in 2010 (up to June 2013) have implemented their commitments, and the extent to which implementation is contributing to reaching the goals of the Global Strategy.

The PMNCH 2011 Report: Analysing commitments to advance the Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health

In order to further the understanding of the commitments to the UN Secretary-General’s Global Strategy, facilitate more effective advocacy to advance the Every Woman Every Child effort, as well as greater accountability in line with the recommendations of the Commission on Information and Accountability, PMNCH produced the 2011 Report on Commitments to the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health.
The 2011 PMNCH Report is based on structured interviews with those who made commitments, supplemented by reviews of related documentation. The Report analyzes the specific nature of each commitment recorded through to May 2011 to produce a preliminary picture of the achievements of the Global Strategy commitments, as well as to identify opportunities and challenges for advancement. The report was launched at a high-level meeting on September 20, 2011, hosted by the UN Secretary-General. The report and related materials, including completed questionnaires, can be found here.
