The USCCS has 3 main objectives : serve as a leader for helping to resolve the child survival crisis; expand the capacity of coalition members; engage key US policymakers to encourage increased support of child survival programs & funding.

Other priority action areas: Policy and Advocacy around working toward increased US resources to fund programs for maternal, newborn and child health; Develop and advocate for specific US legislation to increase awareness and action on MNCH issues with Congress; Work with Coalition members for a combined and strong US advocacy program to heighten awareness and action for global development in MNCH.
