Mission statement

Over the past twenty years, Partners In Health has brought high-quality health care to more than two million of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people.  Working with local partner organizations and ministries of health, we have built, equipped and staffed hospitals and clinics that treat patients regardless of ability to pay in Haiti, Peru, Rwanda, Lesotho and Malawi.  We have recruited, trained and employed thousands of community health workers who bring medicines and support to patients in their homes, and catalyze community solidarity and growth.  Today, 80% of the almost 13,000 who work for the organization are the rural poor.  By using the power of example and the leverage of commitment, we have defied accepted medical wisdom to achieve breakthroughs that have transformed health policies and priorities worldwide.
