Mission statement

In the United States: We provide economic self-sufficiency assistance services to African immigrants and other minorities and anyone seeking our services in communities. These services are pregnant women transportation for doctor's appointment, clothes, food, education, job skills training, and employment services. In Africa: Child survival and maternal health Women in Africa have the world's highest death rates in pregnancy and during childbirth according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The five leading causes are bleeding, infection, high blood pressure, prolonged labor and botched abortions. Women lack education and information about birth control, and some become pregnant too young to give birth safely. Malnutrition, stunted growth, malaria, anemia, other infections, and closely spaced pregnancies all add to the risks. The illustrated activities consist of conduct nutritional education, information facts sessions on monthly basis for pregnant women in prenatal health centers, explaining why it is so important for themselves and their babies to maintain good nutritional behaviors. At the end of each session, we will provide brochures, pamphlets, vitamins, and some essential drugs and materials to them and the hospital. These activities will include also outreach in communities, training of nurses, midwives, and doctors by our expatriate volunteers to conduct counseling clinic sessions: nutrition, vitamins, breastfeeding, and micronutrients vitamins. We plan in addition to conduct a qualitative research a need assessment about nutrition and diet among pregnant and women having babies. We aim to design a comprehensive country level nutrition solutions.
