Ms Stufkens will discuss the experience with implementation of the Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative in New Zealand through an effort that has helped ensure that 96% of maternity services are accredited as baby-friendly. She will share lessons learnt during the process of implementation of the initiative at institutional and community level.

Julie will also refer to the work of the Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative Coordinators, with emphasis on challenges and opportunities faced by the coordinators’ network as well as by coordinators in each country.
