12 MARCH 2014 - The WHO electronic Library of Evidence for Nutrition Actions (eLENA) has recently been updated to include the following nutrition interventions for the management of children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and management of patients with tuberculosis (TB):

These 16 interventions cover many of the recommendations found in the recently released guidelines:

In addition, several new features have been added to the eLENA and the Global database on the Implementation of Nutrition Action (GINA) web sites in order to improve user experience and access to information, including:

  • a “How to use eLENA” tab in the navigation menu so that users can quickly find detailed information from any page within the eLENA web site
  • an “Interventions by Category” tab in the navigation menu allowing users to view all interventions sorted by Category ranking
  • links to GINA, providing users with relevant implementation information for most interventions in eLENA
  • improved organization of WHO documents (i.e. guidelines, other guidance documents) and supporting evidence

  • links to eLENA, providing users with relevant evidence and guidance information for many of the nutrition actions in GINA

Please continue to visit both the eLENA and GINA web sites, as well as the WHO Nutrition web site, for additional updates.
