    Scabies: a common skin disease in resource-poor tropical settings
    Scabies, one of the most common skin diseases in developing countries, affects more than 130 million people worldwide at any time.
    The greatest impact of this skin condition is in resource-poor tropical settings where it imposes a major cost on health-care systems. Scabies can also trigger renal and cardiovascular complications.
    Although scabies is not included in WHO’s portfolio of neglected tropical diseases, a new webpage highlights its global burden.
