Global Alliance to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (GAELF)

GAELF was established in 2000 to assist the WHO Global Programme to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis with advocacy, resource mobilization and programme implementation. As a public-private partnership, GAELF brings together many different organizations under one umbrella, including national ministries of health, WHO, private sector companies, international development agencies and foundations, nongovernmental organizations, research and academic institutions, and local communities.

Global Buruli Ulcer Initiative (GBUI)

GBUI is a partnership of Member States, academic and research institutions, donors, nongovernmental organizations, WHO and others. This initiative is dedicated to raising awareness about Buruli ulcer disease in the context of NTDs at all levels in order to increase its profile and obtain commitments from governments, policy-makers and donors for research and control; and for support and development of capacity for the health systems of endemic countries to improve access to early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disability.

Global Collaboration for Development of Pesticides for Public Health (GCDPP)

GCDPP was established by WHOPES to strengthen its activities, to facilitate the search for alternative safe and more cost-effective pesticides and application methodologies and to further promote the safe and proper use of pesticides and application equipment. This collaboration provides a forum for exchange of information and ideas on issues related to the development and use of pesticides and pesticide application equipment within the context of WHO global disease control strategies, and serves an advisory and resource-mobilizing role to WHOPES.

Partners for Parasite Control (PPC)

PPC comprises various United Nations agencies, research institutes, universities and a multitude of nongovernmental organizations, each bringing its unique and different skills to the table. Some excel at providing training; others are better positioned to fund-raise or develop advocacy materials. Drug provision falls under the remit of some agencies and outreach is one of the most valuable resources of nongovernmental organizations.
