Dr Abdulhakim Al-Kuhlani

Dr Al-Kuhlani is Director-General for Disease Control and Surveillance in Yemen.

After graduating from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans in 1993, he served in the public health service for more than 20 years, with a focus on neglected tropical diseases.

Dr Al-Kuhlani was the national coordinator for guinea-worm eradication programme (1994-1998) until Yemen was certified free and is currently a member of the International Commission for the Certification of Dracunculiasis Eradication (ICCDE).
