New Assistant Directors-General at WHO
28 September 2005 | Geneva - The World Health Organization announces the appointment of the following senior staff at its headquarters:
Dr Anarfi Asamoah-Baah has been appointed Assistant Director-General for the HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria cluster. Dr Asamoah-Baah is from Ghana and was formerly the Assistant Director-General for the Communicable Diseases cluster.
Dr Margaret Chan is appointed Assistant Director-General for the Communicable Diseases cluster. She will also continue her role as the Representative of the Director-General for Pandemic Influenza. Dr Chan is from China and is the former Director of Communicable Diseases Surveillance and Response in the Communicable Diseases cluster.
