Global Ministerial Forum on Research for Health
Bamako, Mali, 16- 20 November 2008
The forum brought together a total of 1,100 policy-makers and researchers to focus on the key linkages between the health sector and research, science and technology, higher education, and the global innovation system. The goals of the forum were to:
- empower governments to develop structured and prioritizied policies for research for health as part of their broader research strategies
- improve systems capacities for the implementation of these policies, and
- enhance international collaboration to address global and national health research
Please also note that HR4D-net (Health Research for Development) is the official electronic forum for Bamako 2008 - it enables people to voice views on the main objectives and key themes of the forum.
It also offers an opportunity to network and exchange ideas with people from both the public and private sectors who are actively working on and advocating research for health.
