Overview
This report contains the result of a technical consultation held in July 2007 to appraise available evidence on intermittent preventive treatment in pregnancy with the objective of developing a framework, plan, and methodology to monitor and evaluate the efficacy and effectiveness of sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine intermittent preventive treatment, of reviewing the evidence on efficacy and safety of this treatment and of identifying gaps in knowledge and defining a research agenda for guiding future policy direction.
