Policy setting for vector control
There are two main advisory bodies addressing policy topics related to malaria vector control:
The Vector Control Advisory group (VCAG) on new tools was set up in September 2012 to evaluate “proof of principle” regarding new tools/technologies for malaria vector control. It reports to both the WHO Neglected Tropical Diseases Department and the WHO Global Malaria Programme.
The Technical Expert Group on Malaria Vector Control (VTEG) was established by the WHO Global Malaria Programme on the recommendation of MPAC in September 2012. It addresses broader gaps in the implementation of policies for malaria vector control, in particular technical guidance for malaria vector control programmes.
