Prevalence of leprosy
The global registered prevalence of leprosy at the beginning of 2011 stood at 192,246 cases, and 228,474 new cases were detected during the year 2010 . Tables shown in first document listed below show the regional and country level prevalence and new case detection, compare new case detection trends over the period 2004-2010, and examine the proportion of child cases and Grade 2 disabilities amongst the new cases detected.
