Working across sectors for health
Special consultation with mayors, governors and ministers on Intersectoral Action on Health, 15 November 2010, Kobe, Japan
Objectives and methodology
The purpose of the consultation was to use the opportunity of the presence of assembled leaders and policy-makers at the Global Forum on Urbanization and Health to collect feedback on a set of proposed recommendations and steps for policy-makers to achieve intersectoral action on health.
The objective was to, in an informal manner, collect comments and inputs for further work on developing guidance on intersectoral action on health to policy-makers. More specifically the objectives were:
- to review and discuss draft guidelines for policy-makers to implement intersectoral action on health, and
- to endorse and recommend the approach to intersectoral action on health during the planned high-level meeting on NCDs at the UN Global Assembly in September 2011.
