Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)

Vaccination against Hib is recommended for all children over 6 weeks and up to 2 years of age. Infants 6 weeks – 12 months of age should receive a primary series of 3 doses, whereas one dose is sufficient in previously unvaccinated children aged 12 months or more. The vaccine is often given in fixed combinations with one or more other vaccines, such as DTP, hepatitis B vaccine or IPV, in routine immunization programmes.
