Global action plan for influenza vaccines

Global Action Plan at the Options Influenza Conference

Recent progress, achievements and next steps under the GAP were presented in the Cape Town “Options for the Control of Influenza VIII Conference”, 5 – 10 September 2013, attended by more than 950 participants.

The Options Influenza Conference series, organized with 3-4 year intervals, is the largest scientific meeting devoted to influenza and covers many disciplines, including vaccines. WHO delivered respectively a poster, an oral presentation on WHO's influenza vaccine manufacturing capacity building program and a keynote presentation in the final plenary session on global vaccine policy by Dr Marie-Paule Kieny.

An extensive abstract book of the Conference addressing many aspects of relevance to the three pillars of the GAP is accessible through the Conference website.
